the great saturn+jupiter conjunction

These two planetary giants are about to get closer in the sky than they have in 400 years.  This is known as the Great Conjunction- rumored to have been the Star of Bethlehem.  This happens on December 21, the same day as the Winter Solstice in the sign of Aquarius.

♄♒♃

The best part is you will be able to see this conjunction happen with your own eyes, visible in most parts of the U.S. with a view of the horizon right around sunset (Personally I love the SkyPortal app to help me identify stars in the night sky) swipe to see a photo of it from the other night 🙂

♄♒♃

The switch of these outer planets from Capricorn to Aquarius means the influence of this transit will take place on a larger scale, affecting society and culture more so than us on an individually. Everyone will be feeling this change.

♄♒♃

Jupiter is known as a great benevolent planet representing expansion, opportunity, and philosophy.  On the other hand, Saturn is known as a more malevolent force, bringing on constriction, restriction, and past karma.  It brings the kind of “pressure” that forces a baby bird out of the egg- essentially, new life.

♄♒♃

The cycle this transit brings now will last for the next 20 years, dramatically altering life as we know it and ushering in more industrial changes, with Aquarius ensuring technology, communication and extended community is at the forefront.

♄♒♃

I’ve thought and dreamt about this transit and personally, I’m feeling a lot more questions than answers.  What’s next? How to adapt? What’s the best thing I can do for my community, beyond just myself? How to roll with the massive changes we’ve all experienced this year? How to be more curious than fearful?

♄♒♃

No matter what your stance or outlook is, we will all be experiencing changes to the world and our lives that go beyond the capacity of our imaginations. So hold on tight buttercup, we’re going for a ride.  Might as well enjoy the show.
