On October 25th the Sun and Moon meet and form a solar eclipse in the sign of Scorpio.
Known as the Alchemist, Scorpio rules over the 8th house of transformation. This sign is ruled by fixed water- which is still but runs deep. Scorpio prefers to wade into the depths, dig up what has been long buried in the shadows and excavate it so that it may be processed and transformed.
Eclipses mark fated events, beginnings and endings. Joining the Sun and Moon is Venus detriment in Scorpio, meaning she’s not operating at her full strength. Venus represents the goddess of love and beauty, fertility and wealth. It makes sense that as we prepare to head into winter, she’s retreating into a hibernation. It reminds us that transformation is not an active process, but a passive one. It occurs when we become still and we are in a position to turn inward and receive.
We just need to be brave enough to see and be present with what’s there. As we go boldly into the darkest season we discover secrets that were hidden even from ourselves that show us how strong we really are, how much we can actually handle, and then suddenly from these murky depths we find the alchemical gold.
