On Saturday, October 28 at 4:25 pm EST, we have a blood moon lunar eclipse in Taurus. The Sun in Scorpio energy is passionate, deeply intuitive, and is interested in getting to the truth of matters. As the ruler of the eighth house, Scorpio is associated with themes of emotional intimacy, the occult and mysteries, emotional intensity, dark nights of the soul, and acceptance.
Taurus is the earth-sign ruler of the second house, representing our physical/tangible resources, assets & wealth, but this also includes also our personal values and our self-worth. Ruled by Venus, this sign loves all things sensual, and appreciates the finer things in life, good food, beautiful surroundings, and creature comforts.
Eclipses are actually disruptive. The impact it has on our atmosphere can be measured and has been described as “the wake from a passing speed boat.” Our systems are responding to the changes we may not even be consciously aware of. It has the potential to manifest as anxiousness, jitters, or even the opposite: being completely overwhelmed and exhausted.
On a deeper level, this particular Eclipse in Taurus is closing out an eclipse cycle that has been happening for the past two years, beginning in November 2021. Think back on any significant events in your life relating to themes of: personal values, resources, art, love, transformation, letting go, and personal power. The Moon is exalted in Taurus, meaning it will be functioning well, holding onto some semblance of stability much needed during this time.
There are a lot of heavy hitters involved in this month’s lunation. First: Uranus and Jupiter conjunct the moon. Uranus brings the energy of revolutionary change, while Jupiter expands whatever it touches. This can manifest as unexpected financial opportunities, innovations to resources, and also a desire for freedom in these areas.
The Sun is in conjunction with the South Node, Mars and Mercury in Scorpio. One word: Intensity. The South Node will be bringing issues up from the past for review, and Mercury will be asking us to dig deep, to investigate, and even uncover hidden information. Explore with an open mind. Mars is ruled by Scorpio and will bring a desire for action and transformation. Mars will give the courage necessary to confront the hidden depths.
Lastly, we have Pluto in Capricorn squaring the Sun and Moon. Capricorn represents authority and the establishment, time, and karma, and Pluto wants to deeply transform what it touches. Capricorn’s energy brings up our relationship with karma and karmic cycles- with many finally being broken and put to rest during this Eclipse. As a full moon is a time of completion and illumination, deep truths may be uncovered and revealed.
Change and growth can be uncomfortable and even frightening. But you will intuitively know when you are being challenged to grow beyond your current level of awareness. It may feel like a trigger being activated, which is an invitation to explore.
But it’s crucial to maintain grounding practices during this time. Here are some ideas:
-Drink lots of water
-Rest, reflect, meditate, and integrate your experiences
-Journal your experience , reflecting on the last two years
-Focus on nurturing your sense of security and stability
-Spend time in nature, connect with the Earth, and engage in grounding practices like meditation, yoga, or breath work
-Cooking a healthy meal with fresh, natural ingredients is another great way to channel the earthy energy of the Bull.
How are you planning on spending the eclipse? Let us know in the comments! Wishing you all a blessed full moon in Taurus, and happy Samhain!
xx
