The month of February holds some truly wild astrology ahead. You may hear this often from astrologers, celestial movements described as “never before seen,” but let’s break it down and look at what is actually happening this month, the one that kicks off the Year of the Fire Horse in the Chinese zodiac. 

The Lunar New Year occurs on the same day as an Annular Solar Eclipse in Aquarius on February 17, the same sign where Pluto recently made its final ingress. Pluto is the planet of destruction and rebirth, and like the Tower in the tarot, it seeks out what was built on a false foundation and clears it away completely, making room for something stronger and more aligned.

On February 20, 2026, Saturn and Neptune conjunct at 0° Aries. This is an incredibly rare event; while Saturn and Neptune meet roughly every 36 years, they have not conjoined in Aries in over 2,000 years, and some researchers suggest it has not happened at this exact zero-degree point since around 7,000 BC. 

For most of the last decade, the outer planets, often called the generational planets, have all moved through water and earth signs, which are traditionally considered receptive in quality: Uranus in Taurus, Pluto in Capricorn, and Neptune in Pisces. This reflects an era of incubation, composting, and slow tectonic change on a societal level. But this year we move out of incubation and into action.

Uranus moves into Gemini on April 26; Pluto settles into Aquarius; Neptune enters Aries; and for the next two years Saturn joins Neptune there. The shift from receptive signs into active Fire and Air is dramatic. We have not seen anything like it in recent history, possibly not in our lifetimes. It’s akin to the strike of a match, or a cosmic green light. 

This may look like a modern-day renaissance, breakthroughs in technology, bold ideas, new creative movements, and visible action in the world around us. Truth becomes non-negotiable, change is no longer optional, and your inner authority takes the lead. 

The Fire Horse does not wait for permission. It moves forward, wild with confidence, independence, and purpose; and invites us to do the same.
